Searching for me?

My website has been enjoying an incubation period and is now being redesigned. I’m finishing off a few projects before I come back here.

In the meantime, here are some useful links:

Not sure if you’ve got the right Anna Lidstone?

~ You might have come across me in the context of creativity, innovation, higher education, communications, writing, storytelling or fundraising.

~ I have a PhD from the University of Toronto, and you might have come across some of my academic work on narrative and storytelling, or in my previous incarnation as a teacher.

~ I used to be a playwright, so you might have come across me in workshops, or festivals or hanging around theatres.

~ I am English, Australian and Canadian and have the accent to prove it.

~ I currently live in Brisbane, Australia (previously Vancouver, Toronto and London)

~ I can sometimes be found waxing poetic in public forums about the importance of play, why we need the arts, child development, parenting, LGBTQ issues, living with a chronic illness or other social issues that have attracted my attention.

Need a short bio. to go along with one of my articles? Contact me and I’ll send you one that works for the context. Or, if you’ve got a squishy deadline, feel free to use this.

Freelance/Professional/Ghost Writing:

I have twenty years of professional writing experience, working with organisations and individuals across five countries. I have worked on highly successful individual projects and collaborations across areas including fundraising, corporate communications, script development, museum design and non-profit communications. I regularly collaborate with other creative professionals, including graphic designers, 3D designers, musicians and performers.

Please note: I am not currently taking on new clients for freelance writing or video projects.

Passion Projects:

I have won more than 30 individual and team awards for my writing and creative projects, including for playwrighting, fiction, creative non-fiction, non-fiction, magazine and newspaper articles, social commentary and academic writing.

I am currently completing a new autobiographical book, in which I confess to having a body as well as a mind. More information to come shortly.

The Study Abroad Handbook:

I am the co-author of The Study Abroad Handbook – a guide for students wanting to study in other countries – published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2007. You should be able to find it at most English-speaking online bookshops.

Pro Bono Work:

I regularly do pro bono work, either for causes I believe in, projects I’m passionate about, or people I like who give me puppy dog eyes and catch me in a moment of weakness. But I have to say “no” much more than I can say “yes”. Feel free to contact me, but don’t be offended if I have to say no.
